eBOX II allows us to expand the conventional DMX-RDM installation, with the protocols ethernet: ArtNet, sACN or IPX

Using ArtNet, sACN or IPX protocols allows us to integrate conventional DMX-RDM universes into the lighting control system, as well as elements such as Media Servers (Coolux, Hipotizer, Catalyst…), Visualizers (Capture, WysiWyg…), that can be used directly with these protocols via ethernet. In this way we can manage these elements from any console that outputs in these protocols.

Distribute DMX-RDM lines easily (cable / wireless)

By an Ethernet cable, or using a wireless link for the transmission of the Ethernet signal; we can transmit all the DMX-RDM universes of the show, obtaining easier installations in complicated assemblies or in points to which access is difficult.

Obtain physical DMX-RDM lines anywhere on the Lighting Ethernet Network

If our control consists of consoles with ethernet outputs, simulators, media servers, and even dimmers and robotic lights that accept Ethernet control (ArtNet, sACN), eBOX II allows us to obtain 2 / 4 physical DMX-RDM universes to be able to integrate into this installation DMX-RDM receivers that do not directly support the Ethernet signal.

Get direct DMX-RDM output from LT’s WOLE simulators (Hydras, Piccolos…)

The eBOX II device allows us to use any LT PC editor, WOLE (Windows Off Line Editor), autonomously, being able to control DMX-RDM installations without the need for a console. eBOX II allows us to work and obtain physical DMX-RDM with the woles of the following LT consoles: Hydra II, Piccolo II, and physical DMX with the Hydra Space, Sky, Spirit, Hydra Plus, Piccolo and Piccolo Scan consoles

eBOX II is compatible with simulators from other brands with ArtNet output.

Models

There are 6 models available, two models with 2 and 4 DMX-RDM ports. In mini box format with external power supply, two other models of 2 and 4 ports with external power supply and in rack format and another two models of 2 and 4 ports with integrated power supply and in rack format. Functionalities

eBOX can be configured from the greater part of LT consoles (or their correspondents woles) or from an Internet browser.

10/100 Ethernet port: Configurable for:

  • Hydra IPX: agile and optimal for real-time communications and in this mode up to 9 nets (workgroups) can be established, each with 16 DMX-RDM universes.
  • ArtNet and sACN: standard for connecting to viewer programs, such as Capture, ShowDesigner or Wysiwyg. And media servers such as Catalyst, Hipppotizer, Coolux…

DMX-RDM ports are configurable as inputs or outputs:

  • DMX Out (output): allows the standard DMX-RDM signal to be extracted from the Ethernet network to have it accessible in dimmers and other receivers. The outputs keep the last frame received.
  • DMX In (input): they allow to insert a standard DMX signal in Ethernet and having it accessible at any point of the network, for use with displays, media servers, etc.

Each eBOX-II can be given a name that identifies it.

It allows the configuration of its IP and netmask, as well as its input / output ports.

The netmask can be edited. In previous versions it was a fixed value: 255.255.255.0

The netmask serves to delimit the scope of a computer network. Its function is to indicate to the devices which part of the IP address is the number of the network, including the subnet, and which part corresponds to the host. The computers in a subnet are isolated and are isolated from the rest of the subnets. Only computers with the same netmask are communicating. Through the network mask, a system (computer, router, etc.) will be able to know if it should send a packet inside or outside the subnet in which it is connected. For example, if the router has the IP address 192.168.1.1 and netmask 255.255.255.0, it understands that everything that is sent to an IP address in 192.168.1.X format is sent to the local network, while addresses sent out with a different format of IP address will be sent outside (Internet, another major local network, among others).

The only tool that allows us to use the WOLEs of LT consoles autonomously, and to carry the show from a PC. And they are also compatible with simulators, from other manufacturers, that have ArtNet outputs.
